The Association of Piano Teachers
The Association of Piano Teachers of Long Island will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m.,at the Garden City Community Church on Stewart Avenue and Whitehall Boulevard.
The Young Widowed Social Group
The group will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Garden City.
MOM meeting
The Mothers of Malverne will hold its next meeting on Thursday, Jan. 8 at Our Town Grille on Hempstead Avenue in Malverne. The group, which includes residents from Franklin Square, meets monthly from September to June to provide a social and support network for mothers of young children as well as events for kids.

Pre-kindergarten registration
School officials in the Elmont School District are holding registration for the a.m. and p.m. sessions for its pre-kindergarten program. The sessions run two and a half hours each day from Monday to Friday. Registration packets may be picked up at the district’s Pupil Personnel Services office on 1735 Hempstead Turnpike. Kindergarten registration
The Franklin Square Elementary School District will continue its kindergarten registration for students entering kindergarten in September 2009 through January. Registration will be for John, Polk and Washington Street schools. All children living in the Franklin Square School District and who will 5 on or before Dec. 1 2009 are eligible for the program. A correspondence will be send to parents of incoming kindergarten students shortly. All registrations will be by appointment. Maggie’s Getting Married
Catch this romantic comedy presented by BroadHollow Theatre at the Elmont Library beginning on Jan. 10. Join the Duncan family as they prepare for their daughter’s wedding. Italian classes
The Wesley United Methodist Church in Franklin Square is now holding registration for Italian classes for children ages 3 to 10 at L’Albero Azzurro at the church. Register now for a session beginning on Dec. 6. To register or for more information (516) 270-2460.
Classes for senior citizens
The Franklin Square Senior Community Service Center will provide Line Dancing and Tai Chi classes throughout January at Wesley United Methodist Church in Franklin Square. Line Dancing will be held on Mondays, Jan. 5, 12, 19 and 26 at 1 p.m., and Tai Chi will be held on Wednesdays, Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28 at 10:30 a.m.
Train and Toy Show
The St. Vincent de Paul’s Model Train and Toy Show will be held on Sunday, Jan. 11 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There is a $5 donation at the door for adults and $4 donation for seniors. Children under 12 are free. For more information, call (516) 352-2127.

Caregivers Support Group
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 3 p.m. This open discussion is led by social worker Sari Flesch.

Counseling for senior citizens
A tax counseling for the elderly program will be held on Monday, Feb. 2. The AARP/IRS sponsored tax assistance program will begin on Monday, Feb. 2 and end on April 13 from noon to 4 p.m. Volunteers will assist low-income Senior Citizens in preparing simple tax returns. Seniors with incomes below $70,000 will be advised on any state property tax exemptions, which may apply. Appointments are necessary. Priority will be given to those who are 6o and older. Please bring your 2007 tax return with you.
